First love — something beautiful and unique, but also, in adolescence, something shameful, something hidden from the world, often even from the object of one's affection.
Magda, Marta, Malwina, Marcin, Maciek, and Mateusz talk about their first crushes, but also about the taboo surrounding youthful love. The characters function in three dramatic planes: as characters in the fictional world of a school disco, as actors in the real world of theater, and somewhere between these two orders in authentic confessions. Thanks to this, they shed light on the subject from different perspectives, not shying away from topics such as physiological reactions of the body, sex, alcohol, and drugs.
Monika Czajkowska’s original play, inspired by conversations with young people, and the performance directed by the playwright, place young adults in the role of experts and treat this audience subjectively and seriously.
The play balances on the border between truth and falsehood, adolescence and adulthood, seriousness and humor. It is primarily dedicated to teenagers, but adults will also find something for themselves in it.
